Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
